Last Week:
- Monday – Had the day off from work and had no excuse not to do my long run. It was 14 degrees, cloudy and I really didn’t enjoy it. But I got it done. In the evening I dragged my weary legs out to play tennis.
- Tuesday – Rainy warm day but only had work and tennis on my schedule. Dinner out after tennis, of course.
- Wednesday – Squeezed in a run before dinner out with my tennis friends (to celebrate a birthday.)
- Thursday – I’ve been coming down with a cold and it finally reared its ugly head so I skipped my run today.
- Friday – Still feeling under the weather but managed a slow easy run after work but bailed on a evening of mah jongg (Decided to keep my germs at home.)
- Saturday – Rain was predicted and I was trying to get rid of my cold so I postponed my long run until Sunday. I did some housework and a lot of cooking. But the day turned out to be so gorgeous that I took my tissues and went for a long walk.
- Sunday – I really just felt like staying in bed and recuperating but that half in 3 weeks was in my thoughts. Judy was nice enough to accompany me on 8 of my 12 miles today. I survived. In fact, I had planned on only 11 and felt good enough to run 12.
28 miles done with 4 runs and 3 rest days.
This Week: (3 weeks until Half Marathon #18 )
- Monday – work at the NYS bar exam, 3 mile run?
- Tuesday – rest day, work at the NYS bar exam again
- Wednesday – 3 mile run, yoga
- Thursday – 4 mile run, mall walk with BFF
- Friday – rest, mah jongg
- Saturday –12 mile run, Chinese New Year’s party
- Sunday – rest
I am participating in week 2 of the 2 Week Hop. If you’ve never participated and are interested in not only growing your blog but making new friends, I highly recommend that you join the next time.
Once again, I am linking up for the Weekly Wrap hosted by Holly @ HoHoRuns and Tricia @ MissSippiPiddlin. See rules here.
Happy Running! How is your running going? Any races? How are you coping with winter weather?
I saw the signs out for the bar exam as I drove home. 🙂
And the ankle is actually a little better than last week — actually, much better than last week. Still not normal, but my guess is that the taping helps a LOT.
That’s a lot of running for someone with a cold!

So glad that your ankle is feeling better.
Hope we can repeat it next weekend. I think it’s only supposed to run this week which is good for finding a clear location.

Yes, they took out a lot of the snow chances so we’ll see what happens.
The ankle still isn’t back to normal, but not nearly as bad as last weekend, so that’s really good news.

I’m fighting a cold also, and I just found out I have a number for the Boston Marathon. I need to run but I feel I keep running my system down which allows my cold to hang on.
My Sunday Long Run was a mess, but I got in 14.6. My post comes out around 10AM today.

Running under the weather sucks. It saps your energy. I actually felt better after my 12 mile run but today not so much. Wow!! Boston? How exciting.

I’m so glad you felt well enough to get that long run done. Seems like the whole world is sick right now.

I know. I’m trying to shake it. Maybe if I rested it would go away. Nah!!

I’m impressed that you managed to go play tennis after your long run! And I remember taking the NY bar exam many years ago. That’s one experience I don’t want to repeat 🙂

Great job getting 12 in! You will be in good shape for your next race.
We are having a lot of rain this week, but it is supposed to be warm. I hope to try to walk some 🙂

Hope you’re feeling better today!! Our whole family was knocked out with the flu last week (and my baby girl still has it!) so I can definitely relate to the winter weather! Eek!

Still have cold but it is much improved. The weather is crazy – cold one day and warm the next.

Are you like me Darlene and think if you stop you’ll never get back started again? Ha, Amazing you got in your long run on your day off and then played tennis later! I could not keep up with you, but I sure would like to try! 🙂 Have a great week Darlene!

I hope your cold is short lived! Look at you wearing a skirt on your long run! Spring already! It is pouring rain right now and I hope to run in the morning. I can’t decide whether to taper or not for RnR on Sunday. I was in a buildup phase before taking that plunge. The rain may answer that question for me. There are so many familiar faces in the hop this time! Thanks for linking with us Darlene.

I know how you feel. I ran 10 before my last half instead of the recommended 8.You’ll do what you feel. Good luck. Looking forward to your recap.
And yes, I loved wearing a skirt in Feb!!

It’s not fun running in the cold but when you live where I do, you have no choice.
