I am busy on the weekend and didn’t want to wimp out so I took the day off from work. How motivated is that?
Fridays I play tennis at 7am so I did that. Fortunately for me, there is a gym there. No excuse.
I changed into running clothes, filled up my water bottle, grabbed my iPod off to watch several episodes of Criminal Minds and I headed to the treadmill.
I practiced this 10k last Saturday because I normally only compete in 5k races. I alternated between running 1 mile and walking 1 mile and it took me about 80 minutes.
I started out the same way but I wanted to get it done so I walked less and ran more. However, I ran slower so not to run out of gas (but occasionally pumped it).
The result: 1:23:00 minutes -The good news is that I can only improve.
I think I’ll go out to lunch to celebrate!
